Painted Quilts

The Quilted Still Life below were inspired by the small embroidered abstract still life in the gallery below this one. The First and Third Embroidered Quilts below are painted on linen. They were easily abstracted through the quilting process. The two quilts on the right were inspired by the previous quilts but were painted on an existing quilt and then re-quilted a way of recycling and re-use.

The embroidered florals are inspired by floral bouquets that my husband gives to me bi-weekly. The backgrounds of each floral bouquets were done a few years ago, and when I pulled the paint coated linen from the shelve in October last year, (2020) I decided to quickly paint the flowers with vase and embroider to complete them.
